ZX1.2用于单母线系统的金属封闭开关设备，秉承ABB优化的设计理念，为用户提供诸多的用途：如高位的电缆连接和可选的数字化控制。开关设备高压带电部分都密封在充满SF6绝缘气体的气室内，带电部分免受外环境条件的影响。人员无法接触到带电的部份，提高操作的安全性，保障操作人员的安全。
ZX1.2采用模块化设计和插接技术，可配高度灵活的电子传感器和数字化保护，也可配常规的继电器和互感器，该设备结合了面向未来的概念和技术。
