PWM（脉冲宽度可调）是一种周期固定，脉宽可调节的脉冲输出，虽然使用的是数字量输出，但其在很多方面类似于模拟量，比如它可以控制电机的转速，阀门的位置等。S7-1200 CPU提供了两个输出通道用于高速脉冲输出，分别可组态为PTO或PWM，PTO的功能只能由运动控制指令来实现，PWM功能使用CTRL PWM指令块实现，当一个通道被组态为PWM时，将不能使用PTO功能，反之亦然 USS协议特点
USS (Universal Serial Interface，即通用串行通信接口)是西门子专为驱动装置开发的通信协议。USS协议的基本特点如下：
·支持多点通信（因而可以应用在RS 485等网络上）
·采用单主站的“主一从”访问机制
·每个网络上最多可以有32个节点（最多31个从站）
·简单可靠的报文格式，使数据传输灵活高效
·容易实现，成本较低
USS的工作机制是，通信总是由主站发起，USS主站不断循环轮询各个从站，从站根据收到的指令，决定是否以及如何响应。从站永远不会主动发送数据。
